Creative Director
Contract position with long-term potential
If you are a Creative Director with 8+ years of Interactive agency experience, then read on. We're looking for an enthusiastic, confident (yet ego-free) Creative Director to help us take our creative efforts to the next level. Initially you'll be helping us with a few of our existing projects, including the extensive redesign of our own website. We're an award winning, 20-year-old agency with a great client list and we're looking for someone who can help us grow the depth of our creative side. We believe in dancing before we get married, so would like to start the position as a contract and if all goes well, we're interested in bringing another creative rock star into the Design Lab fold.
This role isn't for the arm chair CD - as we're a boutique agency you will need to roll up your sleeves and help lead the way by example so strong execution skills are as important as strong conceptual skills. Ideally you have a strong focus with online (including mobile) but also have a flair for branding and a bit of old school print as well. You also enjoy sharing all of what makes you great with others - i.e. you're a great people person. What you will be doing:
- Developing and communicating industry-leading creative concepts
- Balancing award winning creative with client business objectives
- Helping our creative team grow by encouraging them to push boundaries
- Directly contributing to project design and development
- Leading creative brainstorm sessions
- Creating comps, storyboards, initial graphic concepts and final deliverables when required
- Be a great relationship builder with clients, partner agencies, photographers, production companies and other vendors
- Adding your magic to the development of the Studio's culture and quality standards (we are a partner in Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures after all!)
What skills are needed to apply:
- An excellent portfolio, a great personality and the desire to help a 20-year-old agency go to the next level
- Strong client presentation skills
- 8+ years interactive design experience
- 2+ years creative direction experience
- Understanding of mobile and responsive design
- Desire to help tackle the odd print project
- Experience articulating creative concepts and rationale for client and team
- Strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development and creative execution
- Mac OS, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc) - advanced
