The Challenge:
Revera Inc. is a leading provider of seniors' accommodation, care and services; built on a 50-year history of helping seniors live life to the fullest. With 4 unique lines of business to choose from and 258 locations across Canada and the U.S., the website needed to convey the breadth of services and the presence across North America, while taking the wide range of users into account.
We undertook to completely rethink how Revera was promoting itself through the various online channels. Our process began with detailed research on competitors, stakeholder meetings, internal testing and an in-depth discussion of their business model (a key ingredient!). We then built a series of information architectures, wireframes and mockups and tested them with a preselected audience. Once we had the best design as voted on by users, we then implemented it with their new content management system.

Revera needed a useful and usable way to communicate with their tens of thousands of employees across North America. The Intranet needed to prove a strong "WIIFM" (what's in it for me) factor – it needed to convey that there are a lot of benefits for the user with timely, useful and relevant information to encourage frequent, repeat visits. Due to the amount of information contained on the site, the pages had to be cleanly laid out and the information presented in small 'packets' that wouldn't overwhelm the user. Using best practices in navigation and design we created a user-interface that provides intuitive access to all site content while delivering an enjoyable, high-quality end-user experience.
